Dimensions:
6 x 10 cmWe were inspired to adapt this “My Translator” cardholder based on the recommendations of geriatric neuropsychologists. Intended for nursing home staff, it’s a practical tool to help them communicate with residents who are not fluent in English.
My Translator” cards are designed for writing keywords and greetings to residents in their spoken language.
Is there anything better for your senior residents than to be greeted in their mother tongue? With this card holder, staff will be able to find the appropriate words for each of your residents.
A few basic phrases translated such as “Good morning”, “Did you sleep well?”, “How are you today?” or other important details can be written to help your employees. To avoid triggering difficult behaviours associated with dementia, such as aggression and agitation, it’s important to start conversations with your resident in a way that makes them feel comfortable and at ease.
You can also write things in red NOT TO DO to avoid triggering reactions.
Included: 1 card holder, 5 plastic pockets and 10 blank cards to complete
