This is a ‘must have’ book for anybody working in dementia care. The focus of this book is supporting individuals with dementia in a “prepared environment”. Emphasis is on connecting what you know about the person (including spared capacity/abilities) to observations, and then deciding “what to do” based on what you know, thus creating appropriate supports that can help each people with dementia to be the best they can be. The emphasis is placed on meeting needs, particularly related to boredom, loneliness, finding things and locations and ending every activity, including activities of daily living, with success. Practical tools are provided along with case examples. The goal of the book is to help those in dementia care to enable abilities, enrich lives, enhance independence and engage those with dementia in life and living with meaning and purpose. Reality Orientation Boards, Grandfather Clocks, Activity Illustrations, Display Boards, Memory Cases, Adapted Signs and Visual Identification Pictograms are made to order. THESE PRODUCTS CANNOT BE RETURNED.

Please note that certain products are excluded from this return policy, such as puppets, stuffed toys, dolls, clothing and companion pets, which cannot be accepted for health and hygiene reasons.

If, within 1 month, you are not completely satisfied with any other product than the ones made to order, we will do our best to make you happy with your purchase. If the products are sealed and have not been used, call our customer service department to get a Return Authorization Number. IMPORTANT: We will not accept any returned products without this number. You will need to wrap the products carefully and send them back to our warehouse at your expense accompanied by a copy of the invoice, the Return Authorization Number and the reason for returning the products. You must understand that there will be a 10% restocking charge for all returned goods unless they were damaged. After we receive the returned items in perfect condition, we will send you a credit or a refund if it was paid by credit card.
